Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) meticulously works towards maintaining and improving quality of various academic and administrative functions of IMI Kolkata. The IQAC is an effective internal coordinating and monitoring mechanism for the institute. It plays a crucial role to maintain and enhance the quality aspects of the institute across different verticals- both academic as well as administrative.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

  • To develop and apply quality benchmarks
  • To design the parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution considering the quality perspective
  • To build a learner-centric environment to facilitate quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • To collect and analyze feedback on quality-related processes of the institution from all the stakeholders
  • To disseminate information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders
  • To organize inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promote quality circles
  • To document various programmes/activities that lead to quality improvement
  • To act as a nodal agency of the institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices
  • To develop and maintain the institutional database through MIS to maintain and enhance the institutional quality.
  • To conduct periodic audit of the academic and administrative processes to identify deviations and follow-up for alignment with the quality parameters.
  • To prepare and submit the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC

Responsibility

  • Meetings and Quorum
  • The members meet quarterly.
  • The quorum for meetings shall be 50% of the membership plus one.

Authority

  • The Committee may investigate and recommend regarding the qualitative initiatives of the institute.
