Dr. Sahana Roy Chowdhury has more than 14 years of post-doctoral research and teaching experience in economic theory and policy.
She is the Editor-in-chief of the journal STUDIES IN MICROECONOMICS (Sage journal-Scopus,ABDC,UGC-CARE,RePEc listed) and Associate Editor of IMI-KONNECT .
Prior to joining IMI-Kolkata she was a researcher at NIPFP (Macro-Finance Division), Delhi. She has worked with ICRIER (Delhi), ICRA Ltd (Monetary Research Project Division) and was a visiting scientist at Cornell University, USA. She has delivered invited lectures to the IRS and IAS trainees on fiscal policy and taxation and taught at the Indian Statistical Institute on Growth theory. She was responsible for providing key research inputs to the Expenditure Management Commission formed by the Ministry of Finance-Department of Economic Affairs in 2014. She presented papers in several national and international conferences at Cornell University (USA), IFMR (Chennai), ISI (Delhi), DSE (Delhi) etc.
She was in the advisory board of the National Colloquium on Public-Private Partnership – A Viable Synergy for Sustainable Development arranged by Women’s Christian College (Department of Commerce, Management Studies and Corporate Economics), Chennai. She served as an expert panelist in the research meeting on Employability organized by the Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education, New Delhi (Department of Educational Finance – under MHRD, GOI). She is currently serving as journal referees for Economic Modelling, Journal of Economics, Indian Growth and Development Review, Global Business Review etc.
