Area Wise Faculty: Finance

Mohit Pathak is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the International Management Institute Kolkata. He holds a PhD degree from Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. His research interests include corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and ESG disclosure practices by corporations. He has also presented research papers at several national and international conferences and published research articles in several reputed journals including. Before joining IMI Kolkata, he was associated with the School of Business, RV University, Bengaluru.

Prof. Sayantan Kundu is an Assistant Professor of Finance area at the International Management Institute Kolkata. After graduating in Computer Engineering, he worked for Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. He obtained his MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2008 and thereafter worked in Wipro Technologies and IBM India as an ERP consultant. Sayantan has four years of experience in IT consulting. He is a fellow of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (PhD) in the area of Finance and Control with minors in Operations. Post PhD, Sayantan taught at Calcutta Business School, Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, Xavier Business School Kolkata, and Praxis Business School before joining IMI Kolkata. He has a total of 8 years of teaching experience. His research interests lie in Capital Markets, Asset Pricing, Corporate Finance, Decision Sciences, and Risk Management. Sayantan has published more than fourteen research papers in reputed international journals. He teaches Portfolio Management, Investment Baking, and Wealth Management and Alternative Investments at IMI Kolkata. Apart from these, he taught Derivatives, Financial Risk Management and Financial Econometrics at IIM Ranchi and Project Management and Finance at Praxis Business School. He also conducted Management Development Programmes at IIM Ranchi and Faculty Development Programs at Praxis Business School.

Arunava Bandyopadhyay has done Ph.D. and Executive MBA from VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur. He was affiliated with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Dehradun and the Jindal Global Business School in Sonipat before joining IMI Kolkata. He has corporate experience of 7 years in multinational organizations like SIEMENS Ltd. and Phillips Carbon Black Ltd. Arunava has published papers in various international journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Resources Policy, Mineral Economics, and Renewable Energy. He has presented his research work in various conferences such as India Finance Conference, Pan IIM World Management Conference, and International Conference on Economics and Finance Research (ICEFR), Lyon, France. Additionally, Arunava has contributed to research initiatives funded by Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd.(MCX).

Extensive experience of working in corporate sector (Reckitt Benckiser, Career Launcher) to being an entrepreneur and now in academics.

Has conducted executive training in finance for organizations like Tractors India Limited, Astra Zeneca, LIC, ICICI-Prudential Life Insurance.

Also has authored a book on Investments for Insurance.

Dr. Chatterjee has BCom (Hons) and MCom degrees from the University of Burdwan and stood first with a first class at both the levels and received two Gold Medals. He also has a PGDBA in financial management from Symbiosis, Pune. He earned his PhD from Burdwan University in Financial Restructuring through Buyback of Shares, for which he obtained the Best Research Award in Finance Track in the 3rd Doctoral Colloquium from IIM Ahmedabad in 2010. Chanchal has also received Sourabh Shiware Memorial Young Researcher Award 2016 (All India) awarded by Indian Commerce Association for outstanding achievement and contribution in the Discipline and Profession of Commerce and Business Management. Chanchal has published several research papers in refereed national and international journals. He has also presented papers in global seminars and conferences in India and abroad. His area of interest includes Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Earnings Management and Corporate Payout Policy.
