Area Wise Faculty: Management Information Systems and Analytics

Prof. Samyadip Chakraborty completed his PhD from IBS Hyderabad (IFHE University, AACSB accredited & NAAC A++), MBA from University of Liverpool, Liverpool, UK (triple accredited) and B.Tech from VIT University, Vellore. Prior to joining IMI Kolkata he was Area-Head Dept of Operations and IT at IBS Hyderabad. He has teaching experience at JD Birla Institute Kolkata, Adamas University Kolkata and also international teaching exposure as Visiting distinguished professor at UPH Jakarta (Universitas Pelita Harappan, Indonesia). He has over 40 peer reviewed international journal publications (Scopus and ABDC listed) and over 60 international conference publications including those at various IITs, IIMs and NITs in India and POMS conferences in the US. He is in the editorial board member and permanent reviewers of more than 10 international and national journals. He teaches subjects like ERP, Cloud computing, Multi criteria decision making, Management information systems, operations management, project management and Supply chain management. His area of research interest is Healthcare supply chain and management and health information systems including electronic health records management. He is a proponent of carbon neutral U75 movement in the east and is a Net-Zero leader.

Dr. Rohan Mukherjee has completed his MS and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in the domain of visual information processing and system design. He has also post-doctoral research experience in cutting-edge approaches of Machine Learning and AI. Prior to joining IMI Kolkata, he has worked at IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu and Goa Institute of Management. Rohan has published consistently in reputed journals and IEEE conferences in his area of expertise. His current research interest includes data analytics and machine learning and their application in business. Apart from regular teaching and research, Rohan has designed a few long-term and short executive programs with EdTech partners.

Dr. Arghya Ray has received his PhD from Indian Institute of Management Ranchi. Prior to joining IMI Kolkata, he was an Assistant Professor at FORE School of Management (FSM), Adamas University, and a Visiting Faculty at Birla Global University, IIM Ranchi and IIM Jammu. He also has an industrial experience of two years at TCS Limited. With B.Tech. (Silver Medalist) from SRM University, he has to his credit many publications in top level ABDC and ABS listed journals. He has also attended around ten national and international conferences. His research mainly focuses on understanding customer perspectives from social-media feeds in different domains like food delivery, e-learning and travel agency services.

Dr. Sharma has received her Ph.D. Degree from Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi. Her areas of interest includes Machine Learning, Data Mining and Analysis, Database Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Software security and reliability. She has presented and published papers in various international conferences. She has published articles in journals of international repute and also serving as a regular reviewer for journals with reputed publishers. She has been actively involved in organizing various conferences, seminars and webinars.

Boudhayan Ganguly is an Associate Professor at IMI Kolkata in MIS and Analytics area. He has a Doctorate from IIM Lucknow.  Prior to joining IMI Kolkata he undertook projects such as “Tourism Enterprise Survey in Bihar” (commissioned by the Bihar Government; under the technical assistance of International Financial Corporation) and “Study on Computer Aided Learning Centres” under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. He has also published papers in reputed journals such as Electronic Markets, Tourism Recreation Research and International Journal of Electronic Business.
