About the Centre of Digital Transformation and Applied Blockchain
Mission: To develop a digital mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities using emerging technologies.
The Centre of Digital Transformation and Applied Blockchain aims to work in the emerging domain of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies like blockchain to foster student knowledge enhancement and engagement, corporate partnerships and action-based research. The Centre organizes digital transformation and blockchain-related programmes, events, summits, guest lectures workshops apart from engaging in research projects of the concerned domain.
The Centre at IMI-Kolkata will help corporates with digital transformation and blockchain-related consultation, perform research related to emerging technologies, aid in providing fresh talent and knowledge-sharing platform.
A major objective of the centre is to participate in quality research. The centre’s cross-disciplinary team of researchers from top institutes in collaboration with IDS and other organizations plan to undertake research related to the applications of emerging technologies including IoT, Metaverse, Blockchain etc. The aim of conducting research is to enhance knowledge related to emerging technologies from both academia and industry perspective. Our team at this centre has publications in top-ranked journals.
The centre is committed to undertake the training and consulting services for public and private organizations in emerging technologies. The centre also plays a dynamic role in the professional development of professionals, faculty and students through workshops, events and training programs.
We are open to forge partnerships with technology-enthusiasts, research institutions, corporates and academicians for collaborations to advance the activities of this centre. We look forward to working with other academic institutes, universities, research centres, start-ups and organizations for co-organizing events and developing joint application for grants in the domain of digital transformation and other emerging technologies.

We are delighted to announce that the research project, titled “Estimating Degree of Financial Inclusion in the Fintech Era: An explorative study among the young generation in select Indian states,” has been selected by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under their prestigious “Scholarship Scheme for Faculty Members from Academic Institutions – 2023”!” This is a remarkable achievement, considering only five projects across India were chosen for this scheme.

A MoU was signed between IMI Kolkata and Swaransh IT Solutions Private Limited through the Center of Digital Transformation and Applied Blockchain for developing and launching a Certificate Programme in the emerging technologies segment like Blockchain and Fintech. This unique collaboration brings together experts from Industry and academia for sharing knowledge related to technical skills required in the job market.
MoU with SAS
IMI Kolkata has signed an MoU with SAS for developing Online Executive Certificate Program in the domain of Analytics that may enable participants to gain Global professional certification credentials of SAS. The program will help candidates to gain state-of-the art practices in analytics and digital practices and get exposed to platforms like SAS.
Collaboration with TCS
TCS has been constantly engaging with IMI by supporting the students with regular sessions by their subject matter experts in PGDM courses. The courses are mostly from the domain of emerging technologies and their related applications. Few faculty members are also engaged in research project with TCS professionals as an outcome of this collaboration.
