International Management Institute Kolkata organised a Faculty Development Programme on E-commerce, Social Media and Marketing at its campus on January 07, 2017. The half-day session was taken by Dr. Stephane Bourliataux-Lajoinie, Director, International Programme in Service Marketing (Master 2), Beirut, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Assistant Professor at IAE de Tours (University Business School), France. The programme witnessed participation from academicians and research scholars from eminent universities and colleges from different states of India as well as the corporate executives from reputed organizations.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Professor Arindam Banik, Director, IMI Kolkata, delivered the welcome speech. He spoke on the significance of holding such programmes in the context of providing the participants with insights about the dynamics and usage of the online platform to optimize Return on Investment in every sphere of business.

Dr. Stephane deliberated on various issues pertaining to the evolving domain of Digital Marketing and how it has revolutionized the way buyers and sellers interact. He spoke on The Changing Paradigm of Marketing, Evolution of On-line Platform, How Consumers Buy Online, How to Use the On-line Platforms, Analysis of Leading Online Marketing Platforms and Benchmarking, Analysis of the Emerging Markets and the Future of On-line Marketing.

A Faculty Development Programme on the “Art of Paper Writing and Publishing” organised by IMI-Kolkata on September 23, 2016 at its campus witnessed an overwhelming response and participation from faculty, research scholars and doctoral students from academic institutes and universities all over the country.

The programme focussed on developing the requisite skills for writing good research papers and their publication in eminent journals. The programme also inspired the participants to explore non-academic avenues of writing. The programme covered topics like understanding readership, referencing styles, ranking factors, and also what editors look for in a good research paper and deciding on the ‘language’ of writing.

Participants from various premier institutes and universities such as Delhi University, Presidency University, St. Xavier’s College, Heritage Business School and Jadavpur University, to name a few attended the programme.
