IMI Kolkata conducted a research seminar on 22nd June 2023. Ms. Indrani Paul, research scholars of IMI Kolkata, presented her research work on “Tourist’s Engagement in Eco-Tourism: A Review and Research Agenda”. The seminar was attended by the faculty members and FPM research Scholars of the institute.
Abstract: This study provides a comprehensive review of antecedent (A), consequence (C), and intervention (I) factors of tourists’ engagement in the ecotourism context. Using ACI framework, this study addresses six engagement themes and Co-word analysis also supports the categorization of the themes. Alluvial diagram shows that tourist engagement in ecotourism was initially centered around destination engagement, and gradually it inclined towards environmental conservation engagement, social media engagement, and tourist-OTA engagement.
