It gives us immense pleasure to share that International Management Institute (IMI) Kolkata is an Academic Partner of the Bharat Blockchain Network (BBN). Bharat Blockchain Network (BBN) is India’s nationwide Hybrid Blockchain Network visioned to enable Blockchain projects of academic interest.
This pioneering platform is powered by Information Data Systems Private Limited (better known in India as Intuitive Data Solutions Private Limited) (IDS) and is supported by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The Bharat Blockchain Network initiative is positioned to create the world’s largest Academic Blockchain Consortium and Polyversity. As a part of Bharat Blockchain Network Initiative, a Blockchain Chapter and a Blockchain node has been successfully set up in IMI-Kolkata. Since IMI-Kolkata is hosting a node, IMI-Kolkata aims to start offering Blockchain services and Certified educational courses on the IDS BBN platform enabling mass audience reach to other institutes or students.
Being a part of the Bharat Blockchain Network, the students of IMI-Kolkata get closed community access for peer-to-peer learning, 15 hours Blockchain Bootcamp Course free workshops, Industry talks, networking, and mentoring support from Blockchain practitioners and mentors. Additionally, students get access to Blockchain internships and full time opportunities through IDS job boards and placement connections. In future, IMI-Kolkata also aims to attract Blockchain consulting projects and enable Blockchain research and PhDs with the support of IDS. Soon IMI-Kolkata will have a virtual presence in the Bharat Blockchain Network’s Educational Metaverse (Polyversity) environment which will help to make education more accessible, immersive, and meaningful.
Activity/Event:“Bharat Blockchain Yatra event at IMI-Kolkata”
Description of the Event: A significant occasion took place at the esteemed International Management Institute, Kolkata (IMI-
K), on August 18, 2023. The event had a remarkable turnout of over 250 people, from all over West
Bengal, and brought together a broad collection of blockchain enthusiasts, thought leaders, and
practitioners.
Bharat Blockchain Yatra event at IMI-Kolkata, which Information Data Systems (IDS), Hedera and
AICTE skillfully put together in collaboration with our college, was a resounding success. By
conducting this event, IMI-Kolkata became the first Management Institute across India to host the
prestigious Bharat Blockchain Yatra.
The Bharat Blockchain Yatra event hosted by IMI-Kolkata under the guidance of Dr. Mohua Banerjee,
Director of the International Management Institute, Kolkata, and Professor Dr. Arghya Ray, Chair
Bharat Blockchain Network (BBN) Chapter IMI-Kolkata was a day of excitement and knowledge-
sharing. The BBN-IMI-Kolkata Blockchain Chapter unveiled a newsletter “Blockchain Avenir” focused
on the latest developments in blockchain technology, while Sunil Subrahmanyam Yadavalli provided
an overview of strategic partnerships between IDS and IMI-K. Mr. Voruganti Aravind delivered an
inaugural presentation that explored the transformative journey of blockchain from a buzzword to a
catalyst for value creation. Ms. Anju De Alwis led an expert talk, emphasizing the importance of
governance in government initiatives like those in the UAE and Australia. Neha Roy presented on
NFTs and digital ownership, highlighting how these innovations are redefining impact and
empowering social change.
Mr. Voruganti Aravind unveiled the allocation of land parcels for IMI-Kolkata within the Polyversity
Metaverse, showcasing the integration of blockchain into the virtual realm. The event also featured
a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Mr. Sunil Subrahmanyam Yadavalli, with panelists
including Ms. Neha Roy, Mr. Angsuman Chakraborty, Ms. Anshu Jalan, and Mr. Rittik Das, discussing
the exciting developments in the Web 3 ecosystem of West Bengal and its global implications.
Attendees engaged in a fireside chat with Mr. Santosh Padhi, focusing on the opportunities and
challenges within India's crypto exchange landscape. Mr. Angsuman Chakraborty provided an
insightful expert talk, exploring how blockchain technology can elevate efficiency, automation,
security, and transparency, particularly within the context of Industry 4.0 enhancement. Mr. Rittik
Das delivered a compelling presentation on the potential of blockchain entrepreneurship,
highlighting how it unlocks innovative possibilities for businesses in the Web3 era. Anshu Jalan
showcased the Plenty Wallet and Plenty Exchange in a project presentation, illustrating the practical
applications of blockchain technology.
The event's comprehensive program included expert talks and panel discussions, offering
participants the opportunity to attend Blockchain Primer and Workshops. These sessions, led by
experts such as Mr. Dayal Mukati and Mr. Voruganti Aravind, covered topics such as the Blockchain
Business Model Canvas, enriching the knowledge and skills of all attendees. Overall, the Bharat
Blockchain Yatra event was a resounding success, bringing together leaders, practitioners, and
enthusiasts in the blockchain space for a day of insightful discussions, presentations, and workshops.

Description of the Event: Blockchain masterclass was held at IMI Kolkata during the orientation program of the PGDM batch 2023-2025. The Blockchain masterclass was organized by IDS in collaboration with the IMI Kolkata Blockchain Chapter, under the expansive campaign, Bharat Blockchain Network, an IDS and AICTE Initiative.
