Indrani Paul

Dr. Indrani Paul is currently an Assistant Professor of marketing at IMI Kolkata. She has earned her doctoral degree from IMI Kolkata. Her PhD thesis focuses on the tourist’s engagement behaviour in the ecotourism context. Dr. Paul is having experience of academic research and proven track of publications in the area of customer engagement, ecotourism, service quality and sustainable tourism, eWOM using qualitative and quantitative research methods. She has published research articles in several reputed international journals such as Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Tourism Recreation Research, International Journal of Human–Computer Interaction. She has also presented her research works in many international conferences. Her teaching interest includes subjects such as marketing research, digital marketing, services marketing, Generative AI in marketing. She is an active reviewer of various reputed journals.


Rahul Kapoor

Dr. Rahul Kapoor serves as an adjunct professor, teaching entrepreneurship to MBA students, and actively contributes to India’s innovation ecosystem. He has helped develop unique entrepreneurship programs that are based on completely experiential learning. The programs, Local Business Accelerator and New Venture Development are now running for the 4th annual cycle.

Dr. Kapoor is the founder of Turnip Innovations, an online education platform dedicated to fostering innovation, intellectual property (IP) awareness, and entrepreneurship across India. With a PhD in Innovation Management from LUT University, Finland, and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering. Dr. Kapoor’s academic journey includes research stints at Solvay Business School in Belgium and TU Berlin in Germany. His early career spanned roles in manufacturing at Crompton Greaves and software development in Bangalore, providing a diverse foundation for his entrepreneurial pursuits.

In 2018, Dr. Kapoor launched Turnip Innovations to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application. The platform has since empowered over 100,000 learners through AICTE-evaluated courses on patents, big data, and entrepreneurship. Notably, Dr. Kapoor’s 2-Week Patent Course and 16-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program received AICTE approval.


Arghya Ray

Dr. Arghya Ray is an Assistant Professor in the area of Management Information Systems and Analytics at International Management Institute Kolkata (IMI Kolkata). He has done his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and Analytics from the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi) and has around 5 years of academic experience. During his B.Tech. from SRM University he was a Silver Medallist in the CSE Department.
Prior to joining IMI Kolkata, Dr. Ray was an Assistant Professor at FORE School of Management (FSM) and Adamas University. Over these years, he has taught courses like “Machine Learning Using Python”, “Management Information Systems”, “Deep Learning and NLP”, “Digital Commerce”, “Research Methodology”, and “Cloud computing for Managers”. In addition to this, Dr. Ray has also taught courses like, “Internet of Things”, “Database Management Systems”, “Management Information Systems”, and “Marketing Analytics” as a Visiting Faculty across different reputed institutes like Birla Global University, IIFT Delhi, IMI Delhi, IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu, and IIM Vizag. Dr. Ray has also been a part of several workshops and invited talks on topics like “Power BI”, “Social Media Analytics”, “SMART PLS for analysis”, etc. as a resource person at St. Xaviers’ University Kolkata, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Vizag, and FORE School of Management New Delhi.
In addition to the academic experience, Dr. Ray also has an industrial experience of two years at TCS Limited where he was a part of the Business Intelligence team and worked in the BFSI segment. Dr. Ray has done consulting projects with Wordsmith Star and has been actively involved in various Faculty Development Programmes like “Tools and Techniques for High Impact Journal Publications (Part I and Part II)”, “Advanced Research Methods in Marketing Application of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning”, etc. both as a Program Director and as a resource person. He has also been a part of several MDPs for well-known corporates across India in which he has conducted sessions on “Blockchain and Cyber-security”, “Data Analytics”, and “Healthcare Analytics”.
As a researcher, he has to his credit 30+ publications in ABDC, ABS and Scopus indexed journals like, International Journal of Information Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Business Research, Information Systems Frontier, etc. He has also published few case studies and book chapters with reputed publishers like Sage, IGI Global and Springer. He has also presented papers in several reputed national and international conferences, like, ISDSI and INDAM. He has also served as a session chair in “International Conference on AI, Business Models, and the Future of Work” held at FSM New Delhi and “International conference on Sustainable Business Practices” held at IMI Kolkata. As a PI, he is also involved in a research consultancy project with Bradford University UK. His research mainly focuses on understanding customer perspectives from social-media feeds in different domains like food delivery, e-learning and travel agency services.
Dr. Ray is currently serving as the Associate Editor and Editorial Advisory Board in the Asia Pacific Journal of Business Administration. He is also serving as the Editorial Review Board Member in the International Journal of Electronic Government Research and Journal of Computer Information Systems. He has recently joined the Marketing Management Journal as a Senior Advisory Board Member. Dr. Ray is the Chairperson of the Bharat Blockchain Network Chapter at IMI Kolkata and after serving as the Center Director of the Center of Applied Blockchain and Digital Transformation, he is currently serving as a Center co-ordinator in the Center of Digital Transformation and Applied Blockchain. Dr. Ray is also the Programme Director in the Certificate Programme in Blockchain and the Certificate Programme in digital disruptions in healthcare.


Ruchi Sharma

Dr. Ruchi Sharma holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), University of Delhi, with a research focus on software security and reliability engineering. She is UGC-NET and GATE qualified and has over 7 years of teaching experienceHer research interests span software security, software reliability, vulnerability discovery modelling, and analytics-driven vulnerability prioritization. She has authored numerous SCIE and Scopus-indexed journal papers in leading publications She is also a co-inventor of a design patent titled “Smart Food Scale,” registered with the Indian Patent Office.Dr. Sharma serves as Associate Editor for IJSAEM (Springer) and is a reviewer for renowned journals from Springer, Wiley, Emerald, and Inderscience. She has also chaired multiple international conference sessions and contributed as a resource person in AICTE-sponsored training programs and corporate workshops.


Radha Govind Indwar

Dr. Radha Govind Indwar holds Ph.D.  degree in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi (IIM-Ranchi). His thesis work titled ‘Emoji: Examining its effect on customers’ post-dissonance behavior’ is at the confluence of Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behavior and Services Marketing. In addition, he is UGC-NET qualified and JAIIB and CAIIB certified from “Indian Institute of Banking and Finance”. Towards his credit, Dr. Radha Govind has published in high-quality journals, including Journal of Strategic Marketing and Journal of Consumer Marketing. His research interest areas are consumer behaviour, digital marketing, social media marketing, services marketing and influencer marketing. He is reviewer for the few reputed journals. He is having industrial work experience of 8 years including 5 years in a public sector bank wherein acquiring expertise in handling retail and MSME customers for asset products. He has worked as credit manager handling the loan proposals from the mapped branches and facilitating in business growth in Odisha for erstwhile Corporation Bank (currently Union Bank)


Gobinda Roy

Prof. Gobinda Roy has over 16 years of experinec in industry, research, and teaching. He is in the area of marketing and currently teaches Digital Marketing, Service Marketing, Web Analytics, etc. He has rich and extensive managerial experience in the telecom industry in the areas of telecom product management, marketing management, telecom solution, etc. Prior to joining IMI Kolkata, he has conducted MDP and FDP in in OP Jindal University, JSPL, and JPL Raigarh and delivered guest lectures in VGSOM (IIT Kharagpur), IIFT Kolkata. He has published several scholarly articles in leading international journals such as Journal of Internet Commerce, Journal of Marketing communication, Global Business Review, etc.


Avinash K Shrivastava

Dr. Shrivastava works as an Associate Professor at the International Management Institute Kolkata, West Bengal, in the Department of Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques. He obtained his PhD in Operational Research from the University of Delhi. He has presented papers at conferences of International repute and won accolades for best paper presentation at International Conferences. He has been publishing extensively in high-indexed International journals. His research interests include software reliability and security engineering, multicriteria decision models, and quantitative models in management. He has organized various conferences & seminars in different capacities. Dr. Shrivastava has edited seven books published by Bloomsbury Publications and Taylor & Francis. He is the series editor of the book “Advances in Emerging Markets and Business Operations”, Routledge, Taylor and Francis, senior editor of the South Asian Journal of Marketing by Emerald and editor of the International Journal of System Assurance Engineering and Management (IJSAEM), Springer. He also serves as associate editor of Scientific Reports ( Sustainability Section), Springer Nature, Journal of Graphic Era University and IMI Konnect. He is a life member of the Society for Reliability, Engineering, Quality and Operations Management (SREQOM).

Rituparna Basu

Dr. Rituparna Basu is an internationally acclaimed young academician and researcher in the domain of marketing and retail. She received the prestigious AIMS-IRMA Outstanding Young Woman Management Teacher Award 2016 for her contribution to management teaching in the country. She is particularly known for her practice-led research across a wide range of topics such as retail, sports marketing, and children as consumers that is already making an impact across the global academic fraternity.

Dr. Basu completed her Ph.D. in Management from IIT Kharagpur to join full time academics as an Assistant Professor of Marketing, Retail and Entrepreneurship at IMI Kolkata in January 2013. Her doctoral thesis titled Store Format Choice in Emerging Retail Markets speaks of her expertise in contemporary marketing theories and practices. Dr. Basu is an alumnus of the highly acclaimed St. Xaviers’ College, Kolkata and holds a B.Sc. degree with Economics honors. She also has a gold medal to her credit for her Master’s in Business Administration.

Dr. Basu has over 13 years of industry-academia experience. She has worked with some of the best known media companies like AMSI (an Indo-Malaysian joint venture with Power FM and Aamar FM radio stations in Kolkata), Sanmarg (a leading vernacular newspaper) and a startup niche magazine on education abroad called “Ready to Go?”, in national sales and marketing profiles for around 5 years prior to joining IIT. During her IIT days she attended a student exchange programme on International Marketing at the University of Nebraska, Omaha and had the opportunity to meet the legendary Warren Buffet and some of the best known American CEOs. She was part of the IIMA Summer School 2012 on Data Analytics.

In her teaching career, she has already held the Adjunct Faculty position at Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur teaching Sales and Distribution to the students of its MBA as well as Executive MBA programmes. She has been regularly visiting many reputed management institutes and Universities like the IISWBM and St. Xavier’s University to teach papers in Retail, CRM, Marketing Strategy, etc.

She is a high impact corporate trainer. She has delivered several training sessions in sales and communication at companies like Bengal Ambuja, Usha Telehoist and Quotient Engineering Inc. She also facilitates MDPs for Allahabad bank, CESC, PCBL and others at IMI-Kolkata.

She has delivered session on “Overcoming Challenges for Sustainable Competitive Advantage” as a Keynote Speaker for National Symposium by St. Xavier’s College Department of Commerce & Business Administration. She has graced many national/ international academic forums as guest of honour or distinguished panelist and has also been invited as faculty expert to Live programmes on national television. Recently, she delivered an expert session on ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ at the National Seminar organized by GDBI, Kolkata along with luminaries like Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Nikhil Pant and others. Her oratory skills coupled with her expertise as a highly cited researcher makes her a popular choice as a speaker in intellectual platforms.

Dr. Basu is the Associate Editor of IMI Konnect (A scholarly management publication- ISSN 2321 9378) since January 2014. As a successful academic administrator she has been the Chairperson of Admissions at IMI-K and currently she heads its Branding & Media Relations. She is also a representative member of the Board of Governors at IMI Kolkata.

As a researcher, she has authored several research papers in international journals of repute that are available across scholarly indexes. She has authored award winning teaching cases that are available on Harvard Business School Publishing indexes. She is very keen on practicing and publishing collaborative applied research with pragmatic integration of quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches.


Rachana Chattopadhyay

Dr. Rachana Chattopadhyay is a Professor (OB and HR) and Dean (Academic) at IMI Kolkata. Dr. Chattopadhyay received her doctoral degree in Applied Psychology from Calcutta University under the fellowship of the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, in 2005. After receiving her Ph.D., she joined as a Visiting Fellow in the School of Social Psychology, Australian National University, Canberra, for post-doctoral research (2005-2006). Before joining International Management Institute, Kolkata as an Assistant Professor, she was a faculty member in the ICFAI Institute for Management Teachers and ICFAI Business School at Hyderabad and Kolkata. She has published many articles in journals and conferences at both the national and international levels. She is the recipient of RASHTRIYA SHIKSHAK SAMMAN-2024, from the National Education Forum (Government of India), for all the remarkable achievements in the field of education. She also received the Young Scientist Award from the Indian Science Congress Association, Government of India, in 2002. She received the Outstanding Paper award at the Emerald Literati Network in 2013.
