IMI Kolkata along with CESC hosted a three day programme titled ‘Building and Developing High Performance Team: A Programme for Young Executive of CESC’ from February 24-26, 2021. The programme was conducted virtually for the first time due to the prevailing pandemic norms. The programme was aimed at developing young individuals with holistic mindset of understanding business; developing skill sets to effectively deal with difficult situations while remaining motivated; shaping appropriate wealth creating mindset, which is one of the key enabler for building a value creating organization and understanding the pillars of competition for creating a winning organization with effective decision making. Twenty two participants joined the programme to enrich themselves via this programme.
IMI Kolkata endeavors to strengthen the knowledge base, expertise and skill sets of executives from different public and private sector organizations on a regular basis. The faculty members are also enriched in the process through valued interactions and inputs. The programme witnessed Mr. Gautam Ray, Executive Director (HR & Administration), CESC Limited, Mr. Debdatta Maitra, Vice President (HR & Administration), CESC Limited, Professor Mohua Banerjee, Director, IMI Kolkata and Dr. Soni Agrawal, Dean, (Management Development Programmes, MDP & Executive Development Programmes, EDP), and Course coordinator and Programme Director, IMI Kolkata joining us as dignitaries for the session.
Professor Mohua Banerjee, Director, IMI Kolkata while welcoming the participants spoke on the expertise of IMI in conducting management development programmes in both, public and private sector organizations. She also advised the participants to put in their best and sincere efforts to develop themselves through the programme. When Mr. Gautam Ray, Executive Director (HR & Administration), CESC Limited, took over the session, he encouraged the participants to put in their best and most sincere efforts. Their approach would help them develop and hone themselves in the context and culture of the organization. He further spoke of having a 360 degree approach while working which will help them learn and grow.

Mr. Debdatta Maitra, Vice President (HR & Administration), CESC Limited, during his address focused on the importance of human resources and mentioned that the employees of the company can differentiate to get competitive advantage over others. He further mentioned that a service mind set is of high importance and the same should be reflected in all our actions.Dr. Soni Agrawal, Course coordinator and the Programme Director, IMI Kolkata, while speaking of the programme in details, mentioned the several aspects of the design of the programme including understanding of own self, building positive attitude, understanding macroeconomics environment, ability to handle data (data being of utmost importance in today’s time)along with financial understanding. The two day programme was highly enriching for the participants, thus preparing them for their role in the corporate sector.
